Got maybe a decent idea.
In the future you know some semi-shitty and overhyped-bound-to-fail-mmo's are coming out and maybe amongst one of them there might be something decent enough to keep playing. And just to take a bite of every cake it might not be bad to get some sort of community-guild going to share idea's and maybe play those game in a different way.
To name a few games: Tera, Rift, FFIV, ...
I know I would like to test both Tera and Rift, but I maybe don't want to do it alone. However I don't want to be tied to a strict guild either. What some of us built up is more of a community than a guild, as now we're still chatting to eachother about future games and random stuff.
Something nice would be to have a "guild" for those upcoming games, attract more people, "recruit", etc.. so you and I have a decent group to have fun with. And during the beta times of those games, the people interested could get together and create a real guild for said game and keep it active.
This all should remain in a fairly loose environment, some rules should apply if a guild were to be made (like keeping activity and attending guild events). By no means does it need to evolve in a hardcore, super strict guild. We all have extensive experience from our past Aion-encounter, we tried everything but only our pre-launch system seemed to work (keeping in touch, communicating). After a while some noticed Aion sucked, left and put the guild under strain. No clue how to solve such things, but I'm sure with a wider spectrum of people and games, we might be just be able to find some solutions.
In practice:
Sanctuary is the community where the guilds will be created. We advertise on game forums of Tera, Rift, ... and say we're "recruiting" people for said games. We clearly mention we have no guild structure, goals or anything until we actualy try the game and see how it can be played with our memberbase. During beta times we discuss together with the members if we will establish a solid guild or just continue as a casual community(guild) in the game. If people are interested to play more serious, we will create a decent guild and provide anything needed for that guild. Dedicated forum parts, appoint officers and help them go on a recruiting spree to establish a very decent guild. If people are not that interested during beta or the game is just not that great to play more than casually, we will decide together not to take the guild matters in the game that serious and just create a guild in there for fun, shout ingame for free invites and just be a social haven in the game (probably with maximum guild members ingame).
It is highly possible that with this kind of test-platform we could possibly have 100's of people joining, and that is no issue at all. Once we decide to make a decent guild in a game, we can always make a 2nd application process with our current members to decide who to take in the serious guild.
On top of that, the community could choose one F2P mmo for all it's members to enjoy when they have no P2P mmo to play. And ofcourse for that F2P we will recruit ingame as well.

PS. Not sure to keep Sanctuary-Guild.net as the base for this, feel free to give suggestions if you would be interested in /following.
